Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, London
Our sincere sympathies and thoughts are with the families of the British pilgrims who died in a tragic coach crash in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London is working with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to issue emergency visas immediately to both the relatives of the four pilgrims who died as well as to families of the 12 British pilgrims who were injured.
The pilgrims were on an Umrah pilgrimage and on their way to Makkah when the accident happened at 1.20pm on Saturday. The accident involved a mini-bus carrying 17 British pilgrims, a small car and a tanker.
The injured have been taken to a hospital in Makkah where everything possible is being done to care for them.
