Readout of the Cabinet Session Condemning the Recent Events in Palestine International Relations, News and Events, Statements

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rejected the American administration’s decision to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem (Al-Quds).The Kingdom reiterated that this step represented a significant bias against the historical and permanent rights of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem (Al-Quds), which were guaranteed by relevant international resolutions and enjoyed the support and recognition of the international community. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has previously warned of the serious consequences of such an unjustified step as a provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world and a major decline in efforts to further the peace process.

The Cabinet also expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation of the targeting of unarmed Palestinian civilians by Israeli occupation forces and stressed the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to stop the violence and protect the Palestinian people. The Kingdom reaffirmed its staunch position towards the Palestinian cause and its support for the restoration of their rights in accordance with the international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
